Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

London, though it brings up the picture of a busy, growing town is residence to some outstanding theatres, shows, and musicals. A performance in the West End is a great investment for its producer because of its breathtaking real life sets, inventive style and long going character.

Theatrical shows in London reflect the nation’s rich culture, history and politics. The playwrights and the poets always unveil the finest in their creative expertise and depict the quality life of the individuals in London. Then again, theatre was not founded in London. Theatres, shows and plays began in Ancient Egypt. Long musicals lead the West End theatre culture. The classic quality that was present in the Elizabethan times however, is still there many years later.

To experience the vibrant culture, you have to go to the West End Theatre area at the very least once in your lifetime. It is a great vacation location as you can enjoy the numerous plays, dine at the very best restaurants and stay in comfort in Londons star resorts. Given that popular theatres and plays considerably affect the way people dress, numerous fashion boutiques in West End stock popular accessories and dresses.

The musical that has been going constantly for just about 25 years is named Les Miserables’. The performance has just lately become much more breathtaking with state of the art technology and re-imaged scenery that was inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo. This performance is smashing all the records in the UK and is applauded by critics and fans the same. Furthermore, this performance is played by two productions simultaneously in the same city.

The priciest performance to ever be produced in the West End was Lord of the Rings adding up to an estimated 8 million pounds. This edition with its cast of 50 and spectacular high-tech special effects has fascinated the entire earth. It had the crowd cheering for joy and delighted them to the bone with its lifelike special effects.

Agatha Christie’s dark murder mystery play along with an intricate plot, called the Mousetrap opened in 1954 and has been going since. The audience is persuaded not to disclose the conclusion, which involves a twist in the plot.

‘Theatre Royal’ positioned on Drury Lane is believed to be the oldest theatre in the West End. It is some 344 years old. The longest timeframe of a play based on the Guinness Book of World Records was about 29 hours.

The musicals generally continue for a long period. The changes in these musicals though rare can happen with some productions closing up and new ones opening. You can visit the websites of different theatres and decide on the performance that you want to watch. Depending on the performance that you want to see you can plan your holiday. The shows in West End are played throughout the week from Monday to Saturday with Sunday being a holiday.

Iyaz Might Come across as the Posterboy of R&B pop-Island Music but the Singer Has Got a Soft Spot for Punk Rock

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Filipina pop star Charice has released her first official Stateside single with ‘Pyramid.’ Written by Swedish songwriter/producer David Jassy, ‘Pyramid’ features British Virgin Islands-born reggae star Iyaz. The new Iyaz Solo song is released later on this month.

Charice has already had her share of U.S. promotion, having enjoyed appearances on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ and ‘Oprah,’ not to mention sharing the stage with Celine Dion at Madison Square Garden. And she’s no stranger to the world of pop, with her two highly successful Philippine-released albums, 2009’s ‘My Inspiration’ and her 2008 self-titled release.

Watch the video for the album version of ‘Pyramid’ after the jump.

Iyaz might come across as the posterboy of R&B pop-Island music (well, right behind his mentor Sean Kingston), but the singer has got a soft spot for punk rock. Iyaz told The BoomBox last year how badly he wants to work with none other than Green Day, claiming, “It most definitely will happen… I want them to go island, and I’m gonna go Green Day.”

And Green Day he went, by recently covering the punk-rock band’s Grammy-winning “21 Guns” for Billboard.com. But if his warbling, off-key, and pitchy (though genuine) performance is any indication, we have a feeling Billie Joe Armstrong and the boys aren’t going to be stopping by Iyaz’s island anytime soon.

Leona Lewis Has Announced that She’s Assured She’ll Win a Brit Award at Some Specific Point in the Future

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

Leona Lewis has announced that she’s assured she’ll win a Brit Award at some specific point in the future. Since 2007, the X Factor winner has received 1 proposal at the celebration each year, but hasn’t yet walked home with a prize. At the years’s rite, which was held at London’s Earls Court last week, the vocalist lost out to Lily Allen in the ‘British Female Solo Artist’ class.

Talking to The Mirror about her most recent reversal, Lewis commented : “It was unhappy not to win. But I am not miffed. I am pleased Lily Allen won – she has had a great year. She has been blanked too – and other acts like Radiohead have not won Brits before and been ignored. “I’m still early on in my career and I would like to be an artist which has longevity.

I would like to have the time to pace myself. I will win a Brit Award one day.” Lewis’s new single ‘I Got You’ is out now. Leona hit the news earlier on when she told that she would pose in the naked to support the anti-cruelty charity PETA. The vocalist asserted she would go exposed to criticize fashion designers who use fur. She informed the Daily Mirror : “I would like to do a campaign for them in the future. “I’d definitely look to do something if it was done artistically and for the predicament of animals everywhere round the world.”.

Info: Fios Getting a Splash

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

Verizon fios Television hasn’t been as widely accepted as it must be. Intended for the residing room and its big-screen Tv, the FiOS Television lacked the simplicity that consumers expected from an Verizon FiOS-branded living-room technology.

Additionally, it didn’t take advantage of these big-screen Tv and its accompanying audio system by making it complicated to watch HD content and impossible to hear surround sound. Using the second version of FiOS Television, FiOS attempts to address these concerns via a revamped procedure for new buyers or software package update for existing users. It does so by 1st severing the sometimes confusing cord involving the Verizon fios Television and your personal computer, allowing the device to work largely on its own. Even with no the mixed romantic relationship, those having a broadband connection can enjoy streaming videos and movie trailers too. Customers can also rent standard and high definition movies from your comfort of the couch. This, along using the FiOS TV’s decreased cost, streamlined interface, capability to output surround sound audio, make the deal worth a extended 2nd appear should you passed on the initial offering. Many NYC Fios users had adjustments that they required to make. They also needed to realize the relationship among the FiOS Television and a network of computers spread about the house. Beyond that, there remained the puzzle of acquiring content material you owned onto the box.

Sure, you could buy films from your rental Store, but the Verizon fios catalog of films was extremely limited, and its movie price didn’t continually compare favorably to the DVD version. When you wanted to encode the DVDs you already owned, there was no assistance. You needed to unearth the tools for ripping your DVDs and possess a measure of know-how to use them.

For Heaven’s Sake, Turn it down!

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Those words or something similar may have been said many times while you and your family are watching television if your experience is anything like mine. I can’t say exactly when this happened, but I can say that I don’t recall this annoying and frequent event happening a decade or so ago. Perhaps my memory is faulty, but it seems to me that we used to be able to watch TV and not have to worry about adjusting the volume when a commercial came on. I don’t believe it was all that long ago.

This is obviously something that others have noticed as well, since satellite broadcaster DISH Network recently announced that they will be rolling out some new features to eligible receivers that is intended to put an end to the automatic volume roller coaster.

The technology in question comes from a company called SRS and it is called TruVolume and it was created to even things out. In other words, when one of those annoyingly loud commercials comes on the tube, the big increase in volume that you may be expecting will be reduced to better equal the volume of the program you were watching.

Looking at some new televisions that are available, I see that some of them come with the technology already integrated. I wish I had a good explanation as to why those crazy changes in volume ever occurred in the first place, but I have not chased that information down. I’m sure someone can explain it.

I suppose I should just be happy that something is finally being done about it. I have not noticed any new features on my DISH Network DVR just yet, and I don’t know if this will even be something I will be able to turn on or off. Perhaps it will just be downloaded as part of a new software upgrade, and will be enabled automatically. I’m hoping my ViP622 DVR is capable of supporting this new technology. For those of us without televisions with this feature built in, it may even be worth switching to DISH Network. There are a good variety of DISH Network packages available starting with entry-level options that are very affordable. If you already have cable, you’ll find a DISH Network plan that has the programming you want, and is probably less expensive.

Khoom Fay Thai Lanterns a Hit

Friday, December 4th, 2009

Khoom Fay are traditional Thai lanterns, built from slim down weave paper with a bamboo frame. The heated air is provided by a hot fire cell that comes attached to the lanternThe gracefully climb up, and create a remarkable spectacle, peculiarly when released at regular time intervals to form a chain of lighters up into the sky. Night or daylight they in truth make an impact. For Daylight releases I feel that the coloured lanterns are to a greater extent taking and the night becomes a bright white glowing Thai Lantern individual view of course but i do pride myself on being 100% all of the time.Carefully unpack the Thai Lantern, without tearing the delicate paper. Ensure the lantern is not crinkled or hanging sideways and that it is amply extensive.. Holding the peak of the lantern is the best style to practice this, softly raising it a couple of feet, then acutely dropping it. The unit will blow up due to air force.Have a assistant light the wick whilst you declare the lantern vertical. The Lantern will being to feel lighter, then rise bit by bit. Just guide it and let it go by itself, do not attempt to throw it up into the air. Then stand back and relish. These lanterns are thought for use by experienced fireworks operators. Wear fire retardant wear and gloves, and have on standby a bucket of water.
